The Velvet Crush is a study in contradictions. At its heart lies a modified, high-gain RAT-style distortion circuit capable of everything from a whisper to a wall of sound. But beneath the sheets, it hides a jagged upper octave and an independent clean boost designed to push your amplifier into total submission.

This isn't just dirt; it's texture. Inspired by the tension between intimacy and aggression, the Velvet Crush allows you to go from smooth, singing sustain to a crushed, gated panic attack with the flip of a switch.

The Controls: Anatomy of the Sound

Forget standard labels. We designed the interface to match the visceral experience of the sound.

• FRICTION (Gain): Controls the intensity of the distortion. Go from a gritty drive to a thick, hairy fuzz that clings to every note.

• SHADE (Filter): A passive low-pass filter. Turn it left to open up the high frequencies for a sharp, modern attack, or turn it right to bury the signal in dark, shoegaze-ready gloom.

• LEVEL (Volume): Massive output on tap.

• PIERCE (Octave): Blends in a rectifying analog upper octave. At low settings, it adds a subtle harmonic "ghost" note. Max it out to make your leads scream and cut through the densest mix.

• RUSH (Boost): An independent JFET pre-amp boost. Use it to wake up a dull amp or send the distortion circuit into self-destruction.

The Clipping Switch: Crush

The toggle switch reconfigures the clipping diodes, changing the entire character of the pedal.
